County objection to Rosebud annexation/rezoning
Today, I submitted the following letter to County Administrator Jock Connell regarding the county’s formal objection to the annexation and rezoning of the tract at Rosebud Road and Brushy Fork Road.
TO: Jock Connell, County Administrator
CC: Mike Beaudreau, County Commissioner District 3
RE: Objection to Annexation, Rosebud Road & Brushy Fork Road
BY: Email and US MailJock,
I note that, on Tuesday, August 21, the County Commission approved “2007-1238: Notice of Intent to Object” regarding the proposed annexation and rezoning at the intersection of Rosebud Road and Brushy Fork Road in accordance with the Land Use Dispute Resolution Process in O.C.G.A. Section 36-36-11.
I and many of the over 200 members of an informal homeowner group known as “The Rosebud Coalition” (www.rosebudga.com), are strongly opposed to the annexation and rezoning of this tract currently under consideration by the City of Snellville.
I request that you pursue all legal avenues available to the County under O.C.G.A. 36-36-11 and other statutes to prevent this annexation and rezoning.
In addition, I ask that you consider me for appointment to the Citizen Review Panel described in O.C.G.A. 36-36-11(c)(4), should the objection not be resolved before the end of the 28-day period described in that same paragraph.
Thank you in advance for your and the County Commission’s efforts to oppose this inappropriate annexation and bad development.
Take care,
Bob Griggs
